Recording Methods

Accurate inventory counts are essential to effectively identify shrinkage and correct paper errors.
Multiple Recording Methods: Complete flexibility is provided to record Physical Inventory counts. Pre-printed count sheets, portable scanners, on-line scanning, or third party services can be used to record physical counts. An open file import utility is provided to support nearly any recording method.
Complete or Spot Counts: Counts and adjustments can be recorded for complete store-wide inventory or any group of merchandise using spot inventories. The Missed Counts report is especially helpful for spot inventories as it can be used to identify and correct inventory levels for items no longer in stock that have a book inventory value.
Unlimited Open Period for Adjustments: While a key to any good inventory is a freeze of movement before counting, Merchant Plus! allows for an unlimited length of time to audit and correct inventory counts before posting adjustments. Not only can the counts be corrected, but missing or incorrectly dated transactions can be adjusted to be properly reflected in the book inventory at anytime after the count is taken.
Count Slip Control: Count slips can optionally be pre-assigned to sections or display locations within each store and provide a pre-defined fixture map to assure complete and accurate counts. Not only are missing slip counts easily identified, but each slip count can be verified using optional verification counts to quickly compare the detailed counts to total piece counts by slip so exceptions can be quickly identified and recounted.
Flexible Analysis: Slip count reports can summarize counts by person and quickly compare detailed counts to verification counts as well as provide line by line details. The Missed Counts report can identify items that were missed completely. Physical Inventory Difference reports can be run from a summary to detailed level with options to only report variances to help pinpoint discrepancies.
